Treating Peyronies Disease Today!
The treatment of Peyronies Disease (PD) has long been a challenge to physicians and patients . The problem in treating PD has been to deliver medication to the scar tisssue that causes the penile curvature.
Scar tissue, by its very nature, has very little blood flow going into it, making it difficult to get the medication where it is needed. Though various drugs are known to reduce scar formation, all have yielded poor results because of their inability to penetrate the tissue itself.
In 2004, several studies were published that described a safe, painless method to deliver medication to the scar tissue itself. ANDROLOGY medical journal
A process called "Iontophoresis" delivers medication through the skin using the concept of Electro Motive Drug Administration (EMDA) where electrical charges from a small simple current generator, called a Mini-Physionizer, drive the medication into the scar tissue. http://physion.com/peyronie_edu/peyronie_edu.html
Results from the published studies have shown that after 25 treatments of 20 minutes in length, 76% of men treated with EMDA / Verapamil have obtained a significant decrease in their penile curvature . Within that group 14% if the men obtained a complete straightening of their penis, while 62% achieved measurable results. Though this treatment does not work for everyone, it is currently the best non-invasive alternative available for the treatment of Peyronies Disease.
Regain Penile length:
Most men will complain of loss of penile length and girth with the onset of the curvature. This is due to the contracture of the scar tissue involved in Peyronies Disease. In addition to the EDMA /Verapamil protocol, we have found that the SomaCorrect Device contributes to the results.
Once the scar tissue had been softened by the EDMA/Verapamil treatments, patients begin a program of molding and stretching the penis back to its original form. After the tenth EDMA/ Verapamil treatment , patients are instructed to use the SomeCorrect Device at home.
We do not recommend that you use a SomaCorrect Device prior to softening the scar tissue as you may cause additional damage that leads to even more scar tissue to be deposited. This "physical therapy for the penis" is continued at home for a period of 6 to 9 months.
